Srivats Sarathy had an inclination towards science from an early age. Encouraged by his parents, he played with physics and chemistry kits and was allowed to disassemble the family’s computer when it was replaced with a newer model. Over time, Srivats developed interests in both medicine and engineering.

Drawn to the abundance of business and entrepreneurial resources available to students at the University of Iowa, Stewart Knights decided to spend a year away from his home school of Lancaster University in Lancashire, England, in order to attend the University of Iowa as an exchange student.

In an effort to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19, the University of Iowa transitioned to online teaching for the rest of the Spring 2020 semester. As a result, all UI students shifted to virtual instruction on March 30.
