Move-in Days

Move-in Days typically take place the week before classes begin when the dorms on campus become available for students to settle in. Iowa City fills up fast for move-in weekend, so it’s important to make hotel reservations as soon as possible.

Family Weekend

Get a glimpse of your student's life at college during Family Weekend! This annual event gives families the opportunity to experience the hustle and bustle of Iowa's campus during one of the city's most beautiful seasons. The weekend offers an array of programming options, including: campus tours, theatre performances, movie showings, a football game and family tailgate, a murder mystery dinner, and more.

Homecoming

Homecoming at Iowa began in 1912 and has stood as one of the most longstanding traditions at the University of Iowa.  This celebration of the University and its history brings together alumni, students, families, and friends for a week of events full of Hawkeye spirit. More information on this year's Homecoming events.

Commencement

Commencement, or graduation, ceremonies takes place twice each semester at Iowa at various locations and times.
